A Relocation

This was a relocation job that needed to be collected from South East London. The job would then be delivered to an address in King’s Heath in Birmingham. This was a distance of 140 miles. Our man and van service are based in Birmingham, so in order to miss the heavy traffic, I had to set off at 4.30 am to make my arrival time of 8.00 am. I carefully loaded the furniture into the van and covered the items with blankets, and secured them with straps where necessary. It was now time to set off back to Birmingham and most importantly I manage to miss all the traffic again.

Moving From A Tower Block

This was a recent removal. Our man and van service had this job booked in for about 2 weeks. So this meant that the customer had lots of time to pack, ready for the big day. As i expected, the items were all nicely packed and ready to go. The job went really smooth. The only down point was the amout of trips i had to do up and down in the lift. The customer and i found that taking the smaller items down the stairs was easier and quicker as it was only on the second floor. If the lady’s flat was any higher like 3rd or higher then i think the lift would of been a better choice.

The customer was moving into a house. She could’nt believe how quickly the van was unloaded, compared to the loading at the tower block.

Rubery to Evesham House Removal

This house removal from Rubery (B45) to Evesham was quite straight forward, as we only had to dismantle three beds, which consisted of one king-size bed and 2 single beds. Also there was chest of drawers and two bed side cabinets which were also on the list to be removed from the bedrooms. The other items we moved were living room and kitchen pieces such as a coffee table and a TV unit and TV, also a washing machine, cooker and dryer and then an enormous amount of boxes and bags that I’ve seen for a long time, but nothing too difficult.

The only difficult part of the move was the parking at the unloading end. We had to block the road for a while, this is something I always try to avoid doing. I think we was very lucky with the traffic as I only had to move the van once to let a limo get past, apart from that it was a smooth removal and most importantly the customer was very happy.

I love a challenge

This job started out really easy, even though it was nearly a full van load, it only came out of a garage. I then had to deliver it to a storage centre in Shirley. That’s when the job became more of a challenge, as the unit was on the second floor and there was no lift. Just my look that the unit would happen to be at the very back of the building. I just kept thinking of all the calories I was burning. It was a hard job that turned out well, the customer was very happy in the end.

The piano move

Our man and van service received many calls last week. One of those calls was from a customer looking to obtain a quote to move a piano. After looking at the details of the piano move which included a pickup from Edgbaston and a drop off at kings Norton, also there were some stairs at the collection point we had to contend with which went up from the basement, also some stairs that went back down to street level.

I gave him a price for four men as I knew it would be a four man job. The bit of detail I didn’t know was the removal men which delivered to the apartment in the first place must have been in my opinion definitely magicians, as there were a labyrinth of twists and turns before even getting to the stairs. having said that, with just a tickle of strength, finesse and careful planning we manage to get the piano delivered in one piece. At the end of the job customer was over the moon.
